The Nickel Consortium was officially launched in February 2007. All EU and international Nickel producers are part of this consortium, whose activities are led by the Nickel Institute.

The Nickel REACH Consortia have registered in 2010 three groups of substances :

 - Ni metal and the main Ni compounds (closed list)

- Additional Ni compounds covered by the Ni Risk Assessment (open list)

- Additional complex substances (open list)
